Final Four Predictions and Other Matchups to Look Out For

NCAAB Bracket Predictions
The upcoming NCAA tournament has generated some serious buzz. Each year, March Madness brings out the craziness in all of us. When making your bracket choices some people feel it is best to play it safe and follow along with leading analysts like Joe Lunardi. However, sometimes you have to make some truly out-there predictions to win it.

There’s always a trade-off to be had. You won’t have a surprising bracket by choosing safe picks like North Carolina or Duke to make your final four. But, picking these more traditional powerhouses can help ensure your bracket’s hopes are tied to more successful squads. It’s also always fun to support the teams you pick in person. NCAAB tickets are easy to find for the early rounds, and that’s usually when most of the fun happens.

We don’t necessarily suggest to pick the higher seeded squad in each matchup, but if you look through our predictions below, you’ll see that we often stick with the favorites for this upcoming 2019 March Madness tournament. In the following, we’ll go over our favorite matchups and predictions for each bracket. We’ll also discuss our favorite sleeper team and a couple of players to watch out for.

Best First Round Matchup
We consider No. 12 Murray State vs. No. 5 Marquette is definitely our favorite pick for the first round. These are two of the best offenses in the country. This matchup also contains two of the best players in college basketball, Howard and Ja Morant. Morant is a predicted lottery pick in the upcoming NBA draft. Howard averages 25 PPG and Morant comes in at 24.6 PPG. This is a clear chance for Morant to shine and lead Murray State over the higher ranked Marquette. Marquette have had some bad losses like losing to DePaul in a blowout. This is definitely a game you’ll want to score some NCAAB tickets for.

Sleeper Squad
Nevada is definitely our sleeper pick. Nevada is currently at no. 7 and boasts an offense with some serious firepower. If their shooters like Jordan Caroline, Caleb Martin, and Cody Martin catch fire, anything is possible. They can torch some really powerful squads with their shooting.

Great Player Matchup
One of my favorite single player matchups is in the Buffalo vs. Texas Tech first round game. CJ Massinburg is one of the best scorers in the country and will be facing the nation’s top defensive squad. While Massinburg is the better long-range specialist, Culver is an excellent scorer and a part of a much stronger defense.

Final Four

South Regional
Forget about UVA’s early exit last year. They are the team to beat in the South Regional bracket. They are an incredibly balanced squad boasting a top 5 defense and offense. They also have a pair of true stars in De’Andre Hunter and Ty Jerome. They also have Kyle Guy as a third scoring option. We definitely feel No. 1 Virginia will be the team to make it out of the South Regional bracket.

West Regional
While the West Regional has strong squads like Gonzaga and Michigan, we feel that Texas Tech has the ability to make it out of this truly competitive bracket.
You want to know why? We believe in Jarrett Culver. He is listed as an NBA lottery prospect that offers versatility on the offensive end. They’re also one of the best defensive teams in the country. As long as they receive steady contributions on offense from players other than Culver, they can definitely make the Final Four.

East Regional
The East Regional is owned by Duke. Rather, it is owned by Zion Williamson. Zion is just a plain monster. He is the consensus projected no. 1 NBA lottery pick. No one wants to face Zion. He is truly a man playing amongst boys.
Apart from Zion, you can’t forget about fellow lottery prospects RJ Barrett, Cam Reddish, and Tre Jones. A Tom Izzo led Spartan squad always has the ability to cause a stir in the tourney, but this region is Duke’s to lose.

Midwest Regional
The Tar Heels are our choice in the Midwest Regional bracket. They’ve only lost four matches since the beginning of December and these were to top squads like Duke, UVA, Kentucky, and Louisville. They’ve had excellent victories against Gonzaga, and twice against Duke. They have eight wins against top 25 teams. They are led by freshman floor general Coby White. White is an excellent distributor and looks to lead UNC to the Final Four.

Our pick to win it all is a safe choice, but it is hard to go against Duke’s talent. Zion is just too good. He could easily compete at the NBA level. When filling out your NCAAB bracket, you might fall in love with some upset picks but it’s important to remember that some of these higher-seeded squads boast some serious talent. The Final Four should definitely as enjoyable to watch as past years. We can’t wait to see what happens.
